LAM associates to the celebrations of African Children’s Day
Under the Social Responsibility Program – “In the Wings of Mozambique” – LAM – Mozambique Air Lines, in partnership with the association “Sorriso da Criança”, have equipped the Ward of Pahediatric Oncology of Maputo Central Hospital, with means to upgrade the comfort to admitted children.
This action matched with the celebration of African Children’s Day, June 16, having the Air Company of National Flag realized activities for the social development and upgrade of life quality in the communities.
“We are here to give our faith to the children that today are free to play like the others, in this special day that is African Children’s Day. We dedicate this moment to these children with a special hope that they can soon leave this place and return to their normal lives and contribute in the construction of a better world, specifically the development of our country” said the President of Council of Administration of LAM, Dr. Teodoro Andrade Waty.
On its side, Drª Faizama Amod, the representative of the Pahediatric Department of Maputo Central Hospital, acknowledged the fact, and said that “your presence, the time that you have spent with us in this celebration, turned this day in to a very special one and different from others. Your attention and the words you have expressed give us power and hope”.
The Association “Sorriso da Criança” with which LAM developed this action, dedicates to various actions to minimize the pain of the children affected with cancer, giving them better comfort and friendship, to recover the life quality, proposing them with psychosocial treatment and assistance, helping them with food, pleasure and occupation.Maputo, 17 de Junho de 2011
