Live Animals

Apesar do facto de todos os animais serem aceites nos compartimentos do avião como frete, apenas os animais de estimação poderão ser aceites como bagagem.

 

Nota: Se o animal acompanhar uma pessoa cega ou surda, este deverá ser aceite na cabine do passageiro sem qualquer custo, sendo que não deverá ocupar um lugar do passageiro. Poderá ser atribuído ao passageiro um lugar à janela, excepto nas filas de emergência.

O número máximo de animais de estimação aceites por voo é três.

 

Rules For Carrying Animals

LAM supports the transport of live animals according to some restrictions and duties that the pet owner must follow, such as:

  • Comply with national, international and carrier laws;
  • Is responsible for submitting all documents relating to the animal, such as health certificates, among others;
  • Must provide the necessary food and water for the entire trip;
  • Report any special care required to determine the travel route upon booking and before acceptance;
  • Warn LAM if females are in heat;
  • Warn LAM of the gender of the animal being transported;
  • Provide all documentation and correct information for filling out forms;
  • Obtain certification from LAM for transporting live animals;
  • Provide containers to transport the animals. To advance this you should contact an LAM counters;
  • Secure to the container the special food and water instructions and annex a copy of the accompanying documents;
  • State the conditions of the animal when pregnant or has given birth within the last 48 hours;
  • Register any medication given to the animal, such as drugs, dosage, route and time given. This information must accompany the documents and a copy must be attached to the container.

Before preparing the container to transport the animal, the owner must obtain complete information in a timely manner, information import / export, transit permission, health and veterinary certificates.

 

Protected Species

The owner must have import/export permission, which should include: a veterinary exam, quarantine requirements and traffic restrictions or bans. You also need to include food and origin of the animal.

 

To transport animals you must be make your booking timeously

If you want to transport your pet, you must inform us when making your booking or at least 24 hours before departure.

Where the trip involves more than an airline, it is necessary to confirm the transport of all the companies involved.

The size of the box where the animal is transported, the total weight (shipping box with the animal inside), the species and number of animals are transported shall provide that information.

 

Transporte de animais vivos na cabine (PETC)

Os PETC são animais pequenos tais como cães, gatos e pássaros, etc. que preenchem as seguintes condições:

  • Os animais estão limpos e bons de saúde
  • São transportados numa gaiola, numa transportadora ou num saco impermeável, não devendo ultrapassar:
     Altura -25 cm
     Comprimento -50 cm
     Peso -5 kg (gaiola + animal)
  • O seu “Boletim de vacinas” deverá estar em dia

Limitações

Sempre que um passageiro viajar com dois ou mais animais pequenos dentro da mesma transportadora, para questões de permissão máxima, serão considerados como um único animal.

 

Animais vivos no Porão (AVI)

Os AVI são todos os animais que pesam mais de 5 kg ou, a pedido do passageiro, os animais que devem ser transportados nos compartimentos de carga. As seguintes condições deverão ser observadas:

  • Os animais estão limpos e bons de saúde
  • São devidamente transportados numa casota ou numa gaiola, não devendo ultrapassar:
    Altura -60 cm
    Comprimento -130 cm
    Largura -68 cm
  • O seu “Boletim de vacinas” deverá estar em dia
  • A base da transportadora deverá conter uma substância absorvente (por ex., areia ou serradura) para evitar que a urina se espalhe pelo porão
 

Nota 1: As fêmeas prenhas não serão aceites para o transporte.

 

Nota 2: Os passageiros deverão fornecer as transportadoras. Para casos excepcionais contactar os Serviços LAm

 

Animal Transport Boxes

  • Devem ser estanques (capaz de reter os fluídos do animal).
  • Devem ser adquiridas previamente pelo passageiro.
  • Recomenda-se que sejam caixas de transporte maleáveis, de modo a poderem ser colocadas sob o assento em frente do passageiro.
 

Excesso de Bagagem

O excesso de bagagem será sempre cobrado com base no peso total da casota/gaiola + animal, mesmo se o passageiro não usufruiu da totalidade da bagagem gratuita permitida.
