The city thereby permits many influences of colors, experiences and options of different cultures in harmony. All this wealth through the city, reflected in the architecture and cuisine most clearly. Besides all this, we still find a set of unique beaches such as Chocas - and a land connection to the island of Mozambique. It is in this province that Nacala Port is located, one of the largest natural ports in Africa.

 
Tourist Attractions
  • Museum of Sacred Art: installed on the premises of the Igreja da Misericórdia (Church of Mercy)
  • Nossa Senhora do Baluarte Chapel (Our lady of Baluarte): it is the oldest building on the island and unique in its Manueline style.
  • Fort of Sebastião
  • Nampula Cathedral: a building of two towers and a massive dome.
  • Ethnographic Museum of Nampula: on Eduardo Mondlane Avenue. It shows works of art representing Mozambican culture.
  • Mozambique Island: declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996, it is this island that gave its name to the country. The island has several points of socio cultural interest for tourists such as the Museum of Sacred Art, Manueline Chapel, the palace of São Paulo, Hindu Temple, and Luís de Camões Monument, who lived here for two years and wrote part of The Lusiads (epic poem), among many others. One cultural aspect that identifies the island is the practice of Mussiro, an ointment extracted from a root, that island women apply on face and body and makes the skin soft and smooth.
