LAM clarifies the situation of the Chairman of the Management Committee

Dane Kondic, Chairman of LAM's Management Committee, will exercise his functions exclusively, as decided by the company's Board of Directors.

LAM stresses that the role of Chairman of the Management Committee requires exclusive dedication and full commitment to the company's strategic objectives.

The Board of Directors of Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM), composed of the Chairmen of the Boards of Directors of the companies Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM), Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB) and Empresa Moçambicana de Seguros (EMOSE), has learned, through official sources, that the Chairman of the Management Committee of LAM (CEO), Mr. Dane Kondic, was recently announced as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of the airline Air Botswana, a consultative position, held on a part-time basis and without executive powers.

Notwithstanding the non-executive nature of the aforementioned role, LAM's Board of Directors considered it necessary to assess the potential risks of conflict of interest, given that both companies — LAM and Air Botswana — operate in the regional market, considered a strategic axis for the expansion of the Mozambican carrier. In this context, an extraordinary meeting was called for this Sunday, June 29, 2025, during which the Board reaffirmed that the exercise of the functions of Chairman of LAM's Management Committee must be on an exclusive basis, ensuring full dedication to the company's restructuring process.

Following the aforementioned meeting, the Board decided that Mr. Dane Kondic should perform his duties at LAM on an exclusive basis, a decision that was accepted with availability by the latter. Discussions are currently underway with the aforementioned manager to facilitate the implementation of this decision, which is considered essential for the continuation of his duties as head of the Management Committee.

This decision reflects the Board's understanding that the role of Chairman of the Management Committee of LAM requires exclusive dedication and a full commitment to the company's strategic objectives, ensuring focused, cohesive leadership aligned with the demands of the civil aviation sector in Mozambique and the region. The Board of Directors of LAM maintains its full confidence in Mr. Dane Kondic's technical, strategic and leadership capabilities, recognizing his fundamental role in the company's recovery and modernization process.

To all employees, partners and the general public, the Board reaffirms its commitment to transparent, professional and responsible management, aimed at stabilizing operations and consolidating LAM as a national strategic asset and as a reference of excellence in the aviation sector in Africa.
