Baggage - General

A passenger's baggage consists of personal articles and belongings transported by the passenger during travel. There are two categories of baggage:

Cabin Baggage

Cabin baggage is all baggage transported by the passenger on board at their own responsibility. Besides personal use articles, the following items are allowed to be transported:

Checked Baggage

General

Checked baggage is passenger baggage transported at the responsibility of LAM. After accepted at check-in, all baggage, previously at the passenger's disposal, is tagged and loaded into the aircraft holds.

Live Animals

General

Despite the fact that all animals are accepted into the aircraft cargo compartments as freight, only pets may be accepted as baggage.

Dangerous Goods

General

Dangerous goods are articles and substances that pose a significant risk to health, safety and property. Therefore their carriage is strictly controlled by international dangerous goods regulations, which specify the conditions under which these items can be transported without risking the safety of the crew, staff, passengers and property.

Golf Equipment

General

Golf equipment, is considered to be one golf bag and one pair of golf shoes per passenger.

Wheelchairs

Dry Cell Batteries Or Non-Spillable Batteries

In order to prevent damage to the aircraft and to ensure flight safety, power driven wheelchairs with these batteries are accepted for transportation, provided that the following procedures are complied with, according to the type of batteries in use.

Firearms And Ammunition

General

Ammunition, firearms and other weapons shall only be accepted for carriage as checked baggage. Such firearms shall be unloaded, i.e. free of ammunition, and suitably packed for such carriage.

Objectos de Valor

Sempre que efectuar uma viagem a LAM aconselha que retire todos os objectos de valor da bagagem que vai no porão. Estes objectos devem ser sempre transportados consigo na bagagem de cabine.
