Press Release: Update on flight TM1134

LAM – Mozambique Airlines informs that, following the incident on one its Boeing 737-700 aircraft, that occurred yesterday, the 26th of February 2021, at Quelimane, the company has increased the number of frequencies between Maputo / Quelimane / Maputo. These flights are being operated by small aircrafts, thus ensuring the transportation of all the passengers.

A flight departed last night from Maputo to Quelimane, transporting the maintenance team, engineers and technicians. On the way back from Quelimane to Maputo, the flight carried the first group of passengers. The other group were transported this morning, and the last one will also be transported this Saturday, within the contingencies created.

At the moment, the group of engineers, mechanics, specialists in engines, structures and aircraft systems that are on site is making efforts to remove the aircraft, from where it is to the airport parking area.
This work is been conducted observing the norms established for situations of this kind, in coordination with the incident investigation team that is on site.

Among the various actions, the team has downloaded the flight data to better understand the causes of the incident.
