Flights from Beira to serve Interprovincial connections

Since December 2019, LAM has operated flights from the city of Beira to four domestic destinations, namely: Pemba, Nampula, Tete and Lichinga.

The flights in question are direct, except for the Beira/ Lichinga connection and vice versa, which takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays, resorting to a technical stopover in Tete.

The Beira/Nampula route and vice versa is operated on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The Beira/Pemba route, including the opposite direction, has flights on Tuesdays and Sundays.

With these connections, LAM achieves the objective of providing the market with more flight options, in this case direct flights, on interprovincial routes, where it previously operated through multiple flights.

The new flights are operated by a 29-seat Embraer 120 aircraft.

At the same time, and in order to serve better and better, there was an increase in capacity to other destinations, where it began to operate an aircraft with more seats.

This increase took place on the Mapto/Inhambane/Vilanculos route, as well as Maputo/ Chimoio/Maputo, which are now operated with a Q400 aircraft, configured for 77 seats, meaning that this more than doubles availability for the first leg and increases by 50 per cent for the other leg.

Still in the perspective of creating solutions for the demand volume at each destination, there was an increase in frequencies on the Maputo/Chimoio/Maputo route, which now has two flights on Mondays, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.
